St. Louis judges appoint Amanda Sodomka as new court administrator

ST. LOUIS – Presiding Judge Elizabeth Byrne Hogan announced Thursday that Missouri’s 22nd Judicial Circuit Court has appointed Amanda Sodomka to serve as court administrator. The appointment was effective Tuesday following a vote by the 22nd Circuit’s judges.

“We’re delighted to welcome Amanda as our new court administrator,” Hogan said. “Her many valuable years of experience working in Missouri courts will ensure continued dedicated service to our circuit and city.”

Sodomka has served as the 22nd Judicial Circuit’s assistant court administrator and chief juvenile officer since June 1, 2021. She has spent her career dedicated to the service of the court and in the practice of juvenile law.

“I am honored to be appointed as court administrator for the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court and grateful for the opportunity to provide the support necessary for the court to fulfill its mission to administer justice and provide access to justice to our citizens,” Sodomka said.

As assistant court administrator, she handled the administration of the Juvenile Division including budgeting and stewardship of grant funding, court services to youth and families, and the juvenile court’s five departments.

Sodomka previously worked as director of legal services with the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court in Jefferson County. Sodomka is a certified court manager and certified faculty with the National Center for State Courts Institute. She holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated international studies from Knox College and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

As court administrator, Sodomka will be responsible for the all of the court and Juvenile Division’s general administrative duties including managing all fiscal and personnel matters.

Sodomka succeeds Nathan Graves, who served as court administrator from 2017 until his appointment in January to serve as the clerk for the U.S. District Court in St. Louis.

Sodomka said she is excited to continue serving St. Louis in her new role.

“I endeavor to promote professionalism, collaboration and efficiency in the court’s operations and deliver excellence in court services, facilities and resources for the benefit of the judiciary and staff, litigants, jurors and St. Louis community,” Sodomka said.
